Foo Fighters Glastonbury replacement is Florence + The Machine

When Dave Grohl broke his leg falling off a stage in Sweden, he also kind of broke the internet, after videos of him playing in a cast hours after the accident appeared online.

Despite Grohl finishing the gig like the trooper that he is, sadly the band had to cancel all the remaining dates on their European tour, including their Friday night headline set at Glastonbury. Which left us with two big questions: when will they reschedule, and who will take their headline spot at the festival?

Now, it has been confirmed that Florence Welch will fill the Friday night spot.

The news comes on the back of her recent tour announcement and the release of her chart-topping album, How Big How Blue How Beautiful.

Festival organiser Emily Eavis said: 'Once we heard the sad news that Foo Fighters had been forced to pull out, there was only one person we wanted to call and that was Florence. Every time she has played here she's done something spectacular and we always knew she would headline the Pyramid one day. I'm delighted she's agreed to step up to it - she's going to smash it!
