Album review: Chemical Brothers – Born in the Echoes

(Virgin EMI)

Like a train, the Chemical Brothers just keep on going. Following on from the Hanna soundtrack and the live Don’t Think record, this eighth album leads on the disco falsetto-voiced rave grind of ‘Sometimes I Feel So Deserted’, taking in a customarily full guest roster including Q-Tip on the smooth electro of ‘Go’, a heavily-processed St Vincent floating over ‘Under Neon Lights’, Cate Le Bon owning the off-balance title track and Beck on the blissed-out finale ‘Wide Open’. It’s more of the same but new every time.

Born in the Echoes is released on Wed 17 Jul.
