Florence + the Machine announce UK tour dates as new album tops UK chart

Does the phrase ‘third time’s a charm’ still apply if the first and second were charmed also? Florence + the Machine confirmed their place in UK music fans' hearts selling 70,000 copies of their latest long player, How Big How Blue How Beautiful, making it a hat-trick of UK number ones following the success of 2009’s Lungs and 2011’s Ceremonials.

Currently the band are top of the charts in 24 other countries and are on course for their first number one album in the USA, which seems as good a time as any to announce a victory lap.

Florence Welch and co embark on a 12-date tour in September across the UK, culminating in a four-night run at Alexandra Palace in the band’s London backyard. This is in addition to summer festival appearances at Glastonbury, Splendour in the Grass and Electric Picnic among others.
