TITP 2015: the best of the Slam Tent

We round up the best of this year's T in the Park Slam Tent offerings at Strathallan Castle
With an all-new location heading T in the Park’s way this year, keeping things familiar as much as possible might help those in attendance get their bearings. In particular, those whose attendance involves spending three days straight under the darkened spires of the Slam Tent, a dance festival within the festival, and the most defining aspect of what makes T unique in the eyes of more club-friendly fans.
As ever it’s hosted and programmed by Glasgow house and techno duo Slam, also the people behind the Arches’ (RIP, for the moment) highly-regarded residency Pressure. They’ll be kicking things off on Friday evening with Sub Club regular Telford, with an international alliance of house DJs and producers to follow. The Bristolian Eats Everything, German duo Ame, Berghain regular Ben Klock and a Drumcode coalition featuring the Swedish label’s boss Adam Beyer and his Italian labelmate Joseph Capriati closing the evening off with a b2b set.
Some of the biggest club names of the weekend will be heard on Saturday, with Annie Mac, Radio 1’s ambassador for all things bass, one of the key figures to take to the decks for 2015’s Slam Tent edition. It’s also worth noting here that Radio 1 will this year, for the first time, be broadcasting sets from this weekend in their Essential Mix slot, so hopefully this might mean we hear Glasgow’s golden boy Jackmaster going b2b with his old mate Joy Orbison, the team behind the Visionquest label or even Chicago house icon Lil Louis (of ‘French Kiss’ fame) again afterwards. Also on Saturday, Berlin's architect-turned-techno DJ Rødhåd makes his T debut.
Finally, Sunday is where the styles become a little more eclectic, with the dense techno flavour of Surgeon joined by frequent Lady Gaga collaborator Lady Starlight possibly the most eclectic part of the Slam Tent’s bill. Also listen out for Maya Jane Coles, the young auteur who fuses dubstep, garage and more typical house styles in her music.
