Nicolas Hoult: Fame is a 'choice'.
Nicolas Hoult thinks being in the spotlight is a choice you have to make and insists he has learnt to keep his life private.
Nicholas Hoult has chosen not to live his life in the spotlight.
The 'Skins' star - who started acting aged seven - insists he isn't the kind of person who wants to grace the cover of magazines and has learnt how to keep his private life out of the limelight.
He told Vogue magazine: "It's a choice. You learn where not to go.
"I can fall out of my local pub and no one cares. I'm not the kind of person who wants to be in magazines."
One way in which the 25-year-old star keeps his personal life to himself is by censoring what he writes on his Twitter account.
The star, who has over 300,000 followers, admitted he "could give more away" but prefers not to share all of his thoughts with his fans.
Fortunately for Nicholas, his efforts to retain some privacy in his life have allowed him to carry on with a lot of his favourite hobbies.
And while he is often told what to eat and what to wear while fulfilling his A-list duties, there is nothing he likes to do more than hit the beach with his surf board and enjoy some times outdoors.
He explained: "I'm told where to be, what to wear, what to eat so there time I do have, I like to hike and surf in my free time."
