Game of Thrones to be simulcast at cinemas across the UK

Sky Atlantic have teamed up with the Sunday Times and Picturehouse Entertainment to offer nine cinema audiences the opportunity to watch the hotly anticipated first episode of Game of Thrones season five.

While Thrones fans across the country go into digital lockdown to avoid seeing spoilers in the hours between the US and UK airings, audiences at the Picturehouse Cinemas can enjoy a simultaneous premiere with the US.

The first episode is screened at 2am on Sun 12 April. To get fans in the throne zone, the event includes a showing of the final episode of season four, plus Sky Atlantic’s Game of Thrones: Greatest Moments countdown show.

Screenings take place at the following cinemas:

The Cameo (Edinburgh)
Arts Picturehouse (Cambridge)
Cinema City (Norwich)
Picturehouse at the National Media Museum (Bradford)
The Ritzy (Brixton)
Duke Of York’s (Brighton)
Exeter Picturehouse (Exeter)
Hackney Picturehouse (London)
Picturehouse at FACT (Liverpool)

The ballot for Picturehouse members has already closed, but members of the Sunday Times can apply for tickets via the Times+ website.

Game of Thrones season five episode one premieres on Sky Atlantic, Mon 13 Apr at 9pm
