Mogwai 20th anniversary tour, dates added and lineup details

Scottish post-rockers Mogwai are celebrating their 20th anniversary with a recently announced series of June gigs in London and Glasgow, and have now added dates in Cork and Dublin to their tour schedule.

Also announced are the supporting acts joining Mogwai in their big knees up at Glasgow's Barrowlands, with Loop, Prolapse, Pye Corner Audio, The Vaselines, Forest Swords and Sacred Paws all getting in on the party. In Dublin and Cork, meanwhile, support comes from Scottish solist RM Hubbert.

The shows mark 20 years to the week since the band met at guitarist/singer Stuart Braithwaite's parents' house for their first rehearsal. Originally a quartet with Dominic Aitchison (bass guitar), Martin Bulloch (drums) and John Cummings (guitar/vocals), Barry Burns (keyboard/computer/guitar) joined the band in time for their second album, Come On Die Young, in 1998.

The band have released eight studio albums, their most recent being Rave Tapes which entered the UK top ten in 2014. They've also dabbled in other media, notably soundtracking 2006 documentary Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait and French TV mystery series The Returned.
