Music and digital art collide in experimental, sensory installation at Glasgow's Gallery of Modern Art
A jam-packed lineup for the Glasgow-leg of the Red Bull Music Academy UK Tour just got even more interesting with the announcement of all artists contributing to the ‘sensory experiment’ Loops with Numbers taking place at the Gallery of Modern Art.
And with the addition of Montreal-based house producer Jacques Greene as headliner at the LuckyMe hosted night at The Glue Factory, excitement is ever rising for this highly anticipated tour.
The talented team behind record label Numbers is teaming up with sister company Studio Remote to present an immersive installation experience in the gallery’s main space.
Notable from the list of contributors is DJ and Numbers co-founder, Jackmaster, who makes his first foray into production. Jackmaster is joined in this experiment by Actress, Anthony Naples, Blawan, Axel Boman, Spencer and Kool Clap, who have all supplied pre-recorded material for the project.
The installation is described as an ‘epic sphere, suspended among the graceful neoclassical columns of the gallery’s atrium, depicting an upwards journey through ever-changing, elemental landscapes, soundtracked by a series of loop recordings provided by Numbers artists and friends.’
Light and sound designed to fill and flow through this iconic space on Fri 27 Mar should be a unique, as well as ambitious, experience.
Raising the ante further is the addition of Jacques Greene to the Glasgow lineup, with the producer heading up an eclectic bill that includes NAKED, Éclair Fifi, and Mykki Blanco at Glue Factory on Sun 29 Mar, in a night presided over by LuckyMe.
Jacques Greene joins the already announced A$AP Rocky, Julio Bashmore, Seth Troxler and Danny Brown on the RBMA bill, which is scheduled to hit Glasgow, Bristol, London and Manchester, and boasts 192 artists across 36 shows.
