Entries open for aspiring writer programmes at the London Book Fair

The London Book Fair (LBF) is looking for entrants to apply for its Agent One-to-One programme and The Write Stuff competition, both of which offer unique opportunities for aspiring writers.

In the Agent One-to-One, authors are given the chance to chat with a publisher (one-on-one as the title implies), where they are free to seek advice on the writing process or ask for feedback about any ideas and pitches they may have.

Meanwhile, Dragon’s Den-style panel The Write Stuff sees ten writers pitch their ideas to a group of literary agents, with each pitch lasting for two minutes. These aspiring authors are in with a chance of winning a follow-up meeting with an agent to further discuss their ideas, though agents will also be providing on-the-spot feedback.

Both of these events are part of a range of initiatives on offer in Author HQ – the fair’s home for writers and aspiring writers alike – which is sponsored by Kindle Direct Publishing.

The London Book Fair is the UK’s biggest gathering of international publishers and agents. This year, it will be held at its new home of Olympia, West London, and features a global list of exhibitors in addition to a range of conferences.

Best make a start on that novel, then.

The London Book Fair runs Tue 14--Thu 16 Apr, Olympia London.
