Sheridan Smith will go up against Sarah Lancashire at the Royal Television Society's (RTS) Programme Awards 2013-2014.

The 33-year-old actress has been nominated for the best Female Actor prize for her role in ITV's 'Cilla' alongside the 'Happy Valley' star and 'Murdered by my Boyfriend's Georgina Campbell.

The harrowing BBC One drama based on a true story will also go up against 'Common' and 'Marvellous' in the Single Drama category while 'Happy Valley' is nominated alongside 'Peaky Blinders' and 'Line of Duty' for the Drama Series award.

'The Driver', which starred 'The Walking Dead' actor David Morrissey as cab driver turned getaway driver Vince McKee, will battle it out against 'Prey' and 'The Honourable Woman' for the Drama Serial gong.

Elsewhere in the nominations, Graham Norton is tipped for two awards - Entertainment Programme and Entertainment Performance - for 'The Graham Norton Show' while 'Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway' and 'A League of Their Own' are also up for Entertainment Programme and 'Strictly Come Dancing' co-host Claudia Winkleman and 'Celebrity Juice' presenter Keith Lemon challenge Graham for the Entertainment Performance prize.
