'The LEGO Movie 2' has a new director and a new title.

Rob Schrab has been brought in to replace the previous incumbents Chris Miller and Phil Lord, who won't be returning to direct the movie, but will produce the 'The LEGO Movie Sequel' alongside Dan Lin and Roy Lee.

Greg Silverman, Warner Bros' president of creative development and worldwide production, said: "The LEGO Movie captivated critics and audiences on a global scale with its irresistible blend of humor, imagination and fun.

"Warner Bros. is excited to build our relationship with The Lego Group with this new adventure, and we join them in welcoming the multi-talented Rob Schrab to the Lego family as he takes the helm of The Lego Movie Sequel."

Schrab is best known for directing TV shows such as 'Community' and 'The Mindy Project', but the 'LEGO Movie' will represent his feature directorial debut.

'The LEGO Movie Sequel' is expected to hit cinema screens in 2018, following the release of 'Ninjago' in September 2016 and the 'LEGO Batman' movie in May 2017.

Meanwhile, Chris Miller recently confessed he's interested in making a 'Men In Black' and 'Jump Street' crossover movie.

The 39-year-old director - who helped to create the 'Jump Street' franchise - addressed the speculation that the two brands could come together, admitting: "It's a really interesting concept."
