The Twang to appear at Rock Ness

Rock Ness organisers have confirmed The Twang as the latest act lined up to join the 2008 festival bill.

The gig is part of the Birmingham quintet's UK tour in support of their debut album release ‘Love It When I feel Like This’.

It reached number three in the UK charts and included a collaboration with Mike Skinner of The Streets on second single ‘Either Way’.

The band have been championed by everyone from Noel Gallagher to Terry Wogan, and the buzz surrounding them been inescapable.

The Twang are excited about returning to Scotland, and said: 'Scottish crowds have always been really good to us. We’ve played in Scotland loads including Hogmanay in Inverness and always look forward to a Scottish gig.

'Rock Ness will be ace. We’re mates with The View and Editors so will be planning a good one with them.'

Other acts confirmed for the third Rock Ness festival, which takes place this summer, include Fatboy Slim, Razorlight, Underworld, Editors, The View, CSS, Roisin Murphy, 2ManyDJs, Digitalism, The Cribs, Hadouken!, The Cuban Brothers and Simian Mobile Disco.

Organisers have confirmed many more acts, including another headliner have still to be announced.

Adding to the festival fun will be the return of the popular Nesstival arena brought especially to The Highlands by the award-winning Bestival which will include the fashion-fabulous dressing up tent, whacko Lost in Sound experience, Bollywood Cocktail Bar plus other surprises.

Rock Ness takes place on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 June on the shores of Loch Ness, outside the village of Dores, four miles south-west of Inverness.

A pan-Scotland coach service will be operated by Citylink with shuttle buses from Inverness to Dores. Car parking will also be available adjacent to the site.
