Joey Essex wants to enter the Olympics after Jump win
Joey Essex is considering entering the next winter Olympics after being crowned the winner of Channel 4 show 'The Jump'
Joey Essex wants to enter the winter Olympics following his win on 'The Jump'.
The former 'The Only Way Is Essex' star - who beat off competition from heptathlete Louise Hazel and paralympian Jon-Allan Butterworth to be crowned king of the winter sports competition - revealed he would consider entering the games next year after perfecting his ski skills on the Channel 4 show.
Apparently unaware the next winter Olympics are scheduled for 2018, Joey told RadioTimes.com: "Maybe I could enter the Olympics next year or something. I beat two athletes - buzzing!"
The 23-year-old star puts his success on the show down to his "confident" attitude and dedication to completing a task.
He said: "When I'm under pressure, I'm very confident. I don't give up and I give my all. When I'm under pressure I can do anything.
"Every time I have done sport and someone has said to me, 'Right Joey this is it', I've always taken it to that level and always somehow succeeded."
While he was thrilled with his victory, Joey was initially baffled by his cow bell trophy but has since decided to give it pride of place in his home.
He said: "I didn't even know I was getting a cowbell. I'm going to treat it as a medal. I'm going to try and hang it on my wall in my living room or something."
