BAFTA bosses want Tom Cruise to star at ceremony
Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise is wanted to appear at the BAFTA ceremony in London on Sunday night (08.02.15)
BAFTA bosses are hoping to get Tom Cruise to appear at the ceremony on Sunday night (08.02.15).
The Hollywood superstar is currently in London, where he has been filming scenes for 'Mission Impossible 5', and bosses of the glitzy event are locked in last-minute negotiations to get Tom to appear as a surprise guest.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "There's a lot of excitement about Tom having a role at the BAFTAs.
"It's not a done deal yet but it looks very likely he's going to be one of the night's big surprises."
BAFTA bosses have already secured a stellar guest list for the much-anticipated event, which will be opened by British rockers Kasabian, while David Beckham has been booked to hand out an award.
What's more, Professor Stephen Hawking will be a guest of honour at the ceremony, where fellow Brit Eddie Redmayne is expected to win the best actor gong for his portrayal of the theoretical physicist in 'The Theory of Everything'.
Eddie, 33, has seen his profile skyrocket since the release of the film, but he recently insisted returning to work has kept him down to earth.
He said: "It's been the most exhilarating thing. It is in some ways the stuff dreams are made of.
"But you get back into the cold rehearsal room on the outskirts of London somewhere and its back to the gritty of filmmaking. It's certainly a crash to reality, but a wonderful one."
