Denise Van Outen has revealed she will be joining the cast of the BBC One soap EastEnders in Spring and is set to ruffle some feathers in the Walford-set series as her character is tipped to become romantically involved with a leading male
Denise Van Outen is joining 'EastEnders'.
The 40-year-old actress will make her debut on the BBC One soap this spring and is sure to bring more drama to the Walford-set series as her character is tipped to become romantically involved with a leading male.
Although the show's bosses have refused to name names, they have ensured fans that Denise's arrival in Albert Square will "send sparks flying".
The blonde beauty couldn't contain her excitement at becoming part of the cast and is delighted her appearance will coincide with the show's 30th anniversary.
She said: "I'm really excited to be joining EastEnders as I've been a fan of the series for years.
"This year marks the show's 30th anniversary, so it feels even more special to be part of the celebration."
'EastEnders' bosses are equally thrilled that Denise has agreed to guest star "for a few episodes" having already turned down three previous offers to join the soap in the past.
However, the 30th anniversary celebrations - which will be marked by a set of week-long live shows and include the long-anticipated unveiling of Lucy Beale's murderer and the return of EastEnders legend Barbara Windsor for one episode - seem to have swayed her decision.
Executive Producer, Dominic Treadwell-Collins said: "It was only a matter of time before Denise Van Outen walked onto the Square.
'We cannot wait to have Denise join us for a few episodes, where she will definitely make her presence felt."
