David Tennant has been cast as the villainous Kilgrave in Marvel's 'A.K.A. Jessica Jones', a new 13-episode series developed for Netflix.
David Tennant is to star in Marvel's 'A.K.A. Jessica Jones'.
The 43-year-old actor - who recently won the National Television Award for Special Recognition - has been cast in the role of Kilgrave in the new 13-episode series, which is set to premiere on Netflix later this year.
Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg said: "I'm so honored and excited by the prospect of David inhabiting this multifaceted character.
"He can deliver the most heart-wrenching moment to the driest of lines, and all points in between. He'll make Kilgrave a truly original villain."
Jeph Loeb, the Executive Producer and Marvel's Head of Television, also revealed he is looking forward to seeing Tennant in the role of a villain.
He explained: "Anyone familiar with David's work knows he brings an incredible level of dedication to any role he inhabits, a level we knew we would need from the man playing Kilgrave.
"While most know him for his roles as a hero, we can't wait to unleash a whole new side of this talented actor."
'A.K.A. Jessica Jones' will be made available to online viewers following the conclusion of 'Daredevil', another of Marvel's web television series developed for Netflix.
