Seven Scottish artists to showcase their music at renowned industry conference in Austin, Texas

South by Southwest (SXSW) will once again be host to a mixture of talented artists from Scotland, it was announced today.

Blues Singer/Songwriter Dave Arcari will be joined in Austin by the likes of experimental hip-hop group Hector Bizerk and Glasgow seven-piece Roddy Hart and the Lonesome Fire in an eclectic line-up.

There will also be debut performances from alt-rock groups Fatherson and United Fruit, as well as a return to the conference for both Holy Esque and The Twilight Sad.

Asked about performing in Austin, James Graham of The Twilight Sad said: ‘We are really looking forward to playing SXSW again, we believe we have produced an album that we are all very proud of and the festival gives us the opportunity to promote it to the worlds media, all of whom have their eyes on Texas at that time of the year.’

With the support of Creative Scotland, the Scottish Showcase at the two-week long event has been able to exhibit some of the best local talent overseas, enabling Scottish artists to increase their exposure and potential audience reach. Commenting on this year’s line-up, David Wear from Creative Scotland said:

‘Every act here has the opportunity to develop their profile and take some real forward steps in their careers – not only does SXSW enable musicians to perform in front of some the most important professionals in the music industry, but it will also give them an opportunity to perform at one of the most exciting music events in the world.’

South By Southwest runs from Tue 17 – Sun 22 Mar 2015 in Austin, Texas.
