Simon Gregson is quitting smoking with the aid of jelly babies.
The 'Coronation Street' actor has vowed to quit his 20-a-day cigarette habit so wife Emma also agreed to stop the deadly practice and the pair are relying on sugary sweets as a substitute when the desire for nicotine hits.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "They both love Jelly Babies and are using them as a replacement for the cigs.
"The pair of them reckon the sugar buzz replaces the tobacco fix and they're currently going through bags and bags of them!
"They're both on a mission to be healthy this year and each of them is supporting the other.
"Emma only smokes about half the number that Simon does but it's good that they've both got the same love of Jelly Babies to see them through this."
Simon - who has sons Alfie, seven, and Harry, five, with Emma - begun his mission to quit on Boxing Day (26.12.14) and is happy with how things are going so far.
He said: "My resolution is to stop smoking. I've done a lot better so far than I have in previous years."
