Gemma Atkinson joins Emmerdale
Former 'Hollyoaks' actress Gemma Atkinson is set to join the cast of 'Emmerdale' as Bob Hope's estranged daughter Carly Hope
Gemma Atkinson has joined the cast of 'Emmerdale'.
The 30-year-old actress is set to arrive in the village as the ITV soap's veteran Bob Hope's (Tony Audenshaw) estranged daughter Carly Hope.
She shared: "I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the cast of 'Emmerdale' and I cannot wait to see what's in store for Carly. I hope you all enjoy watching her story unfold."
Carly will be seen making life difficult for her dad - who has been married seven times to five different women - when she shows up expecting him to make up for lost time.
However, viewers will discover that she too has a string of failed relationships behind her, meaning she has more in common with her father than she cares to admit.
Gemma - who is best known for playing Lisa Hunter in Channel 4 soap 'Hollyoaks' from 2001 to 2005 - is scheduled to begin filming later this month and will make her on-screen debut in late March.
'Emmerdale' series producer Kate Oates said of Gemma's casting: "I'm delighted to welcome Gemma to the cast, her character Carly is sure to liven things up for Bob and Brenda [Lesley Dunlop] and anyone who crosses her path."
