Ben Hardy has quit 'EastEnders'.
The 23-year-old actor - who stars as Peter Beale in the BBC One soap - will leave at the end of his current contract, a source from the show has confirmed, although it's not yet known when that will be.
Ben first appeared on Albert Square as Peter in June 2013, taking over the role from Thomas Law - who starred in the soap from 2006 until 2010.
Peter was said to have been staying with friends in Devon before his return to Walford but has since experienced heartache after the murder of his twin sister Lucy Beale (Hetti Bywater), before reuniting with ex-girlfriend Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa).
And while Peter has been suggested as a possible suspect in his sister's murder case, it remains unclear as to whether Ben's departure confirms his guilt.
Meanwhile, Ben is not the only young star to announce his departure from the popular long-running soap, as just last week Sam Strike confirmed he had stepped down from the role of Johnny Carter.
