Juliette Binoche confirmed for Edinburgh International Festival 2015

Celebrated French actress Juliette Binoche will appear at the 68th annual Edinburgh International Festival, which takes place from 7-31 August 2015.

New festival director Fergus Linehan, former director of the Sydney Festival and the Dublin Theatre Festival, has confirmed that Binoche will star in a contemporary stage version of Sophocles’ Antigone, translated by poet Anne Carson and directed by Ivo van Hove, from 9-22 August at Edinburgh's King's Theatre. Tickets will be available to the public from Saturday 29 November.

The Festival's programme of concerts and recitals will be announced on Tuesday 3 February 2015, with general tickets released for these events on Saturday 14 February. On Wednesday 18 March, the full EIF programme will be announced, with public tickets available from Saturday 29 March.
