One Direction are backing Lauren Platt to win 'The X Factor'.

The boy band were formed by Simon Cowell on the pop star search show in 2010, going on to finish in third position behind Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle.

The 1D guys have been watching this year's competition and although they accept Andrea Faustini is the favourite they want 17-year-old Lauren to win.

Speaking about this year's series, Niall Horan said: "I think Andrea is going to win it ... but my favourite is Lauren, I really like her - she is really sweet."

In the joint interview on 'This Morning', Louis Tomlinson added, "Yeah, I'd like to see Lauren win it ... but there are great contestants this year."

Liam Payne admits he gets nervous just watching the ITV show because it brings back so many memories of their journey.

He said: "It makes me nervous (watching it) - there's too many memories!"

Bandmate Harry Styles doesn't get nervous watching 'X Factor' but he does still get butterflies before their concerts, despite the amount of touring they've done.

He admitted: "(I do), especially at the start of tours the most."

Niall - who is also joined in the band by Zayn Malik - added: "I always get nervous before live TV shows."
