Where to see bonfire night fireworks displays near Liverpool 2017

A guide to the bonfire night fireworks display events in and around Liverpool 2014

What time do the fireworks start in the city centre, Birkenhead, Wirral, Wallasey and St Helens

The usual bonfire night celebrations in Sefton Park and Newsham Park have this year been replaced by the River of Light display on the River Mersey. The event is free and held on Sun 5 Nov, with street entertainment starting from 5pm.

If you're in Birkenhead you're spoilt for choice, with no less than six displays to choose from all taking place on Sat 4 Nov at Mersey Park, Birkenhead Park, Mayer Park, Woodchurch Community Centre, Upton Park and Lingham Park. All fireworks start at or around 6pm, so just make sure you are there early to avoid disappointment.

In nearby Wirral on Saturday, head to Leasowe Adventure Playground or to Central Park in Wallasey, where entrance is free and things kick off around 6pm.

In St Helen's, try Spark In The Park (Sun 5 Nov) at Sherdley Park where, in addition to a bonfire and main display at 8pm, there'll be a kids display at 7pm and rides to keep everyone happy.
