Where to see bonfire night fireworks displays near Southampton and Portsmouth 2018
What time are fireworks in the city centres, Beaulieu, Cosham and Gosport
South coasters, celebrate Guy Fawkes night this year at one of the many events happening on the 'English Riviera'. In Southampton there's the Ageas Bowl (Fri 2 Nov), with music from Heart FM and The Rock Choir. Plus there'll be hot food, drink and a funfair to keep everyone happy. Doors open at 6pm with fireworks form 7.30pm. Royal Victoria Country Park Fireworks Display is back after taking 2017 off due to renovations in the park boasting miniature steam train rides, a funfair, stalls and fireworks form 7.30pm. Just south of the city head to the Beaulieu Fireworks Spectacular (Sat 27 Oct) where this year's display has a 80s theme. Fancy dress is a must, and an old-school retro fairground with live music (from 80s tribute act Kevin 17), will keep the kids entertained. On Bonfire Night weekend, the annual Mayflower Park Fireworks on Sun 3 Nov, is organised by Southampton Round Table to raise money for local charity, with gates opening for fairground fun from 3pm, and the grand gunpowder event getting underway at 7.45pm.
If Portsmouth is closer to home then try the Gunwharf Quays Fireworks Extravaganza (Thu 8 Nov), which boasts live music from Wave 105 and ends with switching on the Christmas lights or head down to Cosham, where Portsmouth City Council have organised a bonfire (from 7pm) and fireworks (at 7.30pm) at King George V Playing Fields (Wed 7 Nov).
