'Breaking Bad' actor Bryan Cranston has been cast to appear in new thriller 'The Infiltrator'

Bryan Cranston will appear in new thriller 'The Infiltrator'.

The actor - who is best known for his starring role in 'Breaking Bad' - has agreed to appear in the eagerly-awaited new flick, which is being directed by Brad Furman, who was responsible for 'Runner, Runner' in 2013.

The movie, which is an adaptation of Robert Mazur's autobiography of the same name, will see Cranston, 58, play Customs and Excise agent Mazur and his undercover alias Bob Musella, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The script for the new film has been written by Ellen Brown Furman and shooting is set to begin in January in London, Paris and Florida.

Last month, meanwhile, Cranston was linked with a role in 'The Great Wall', which could also feature fellow Hollywood heavyweight Matt Damon.

At the time, Deadline reported that the precise nature of Cranston's role remains a secret, but claimed he's held talks with Legendary Pictures over a part in the flick.

'The Great Wall', which is being directed by Zhang Yimou, who made his directorial debut in 1987 with 'Red Sorghum', is set to tell the story of the iconic and historic landmark in China.
