Brighton Comedy Festival highlights include Bridget Christie, Jo Brand and Simon Amstell
Rich Hall, Jon Richardson, Dave Gorman and Sara Pascoe also set to perform
Brighton will be transformed into the UK’s comedy hub this month for the 14th annual Brighton Comedy Festival. From 10–25 Oct over 70 performances will take place at various venues, including the Brighton Dome and the Krater Comedy Club at Komedia, as the best of the international comedy circuit descend on the seaside town.
The festival kicks off with a charity gala hosted by Australian funnyman Adam Hills introducing top comedy acts, including BAFTA award winning Jo Brand and the inspiration behind Moe from The Simpsons, Rich Hall.
A host of comedians fresh from rave reviews at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe are set to perform their acclaimed shows, including Bridget Christie: An Ungrateful Woman, Sara Pascoe vs History, Romesh Ranganathan: Rom Wasn’t Built In A Day, Seann Walsh: Seann 28 and Katherine Ryan: Glam Role Model.
Other confirmed acts include 8 out of 10 Cats team captain Jon Richardson and comedian Mark Steel. Additionally, former Never Mind the Buzzcocks host Simon Amstell is performing as part of his To Be Free tour, whilst comic Dave Gorman Gets Straight To The Point* (*The Powerpoint) when he stops off on his international tour.
This year also sees the launch of the inaugural Squeaker Award to celebrate the best up and coming comedic talent.
