Former 'Sex and the City' actress Sarah Jessica Parker has been cast in new rom-com 'All Roads Lead To Rome', with filming set to begin later this month
Sarah Jessica Parker is to play the female lead in new romantic-comedy 'All Roads Lead To Rome'.
The 49-year-old actress is set to play the role of Maggie, an American who is travelling through Italy to find her teenage daughter as well as Luca, her former lover.
Ella Lemhagen - the Swedish film director behind 'The Crown Jewels' - has been brought in to direct from a screenplay co-written by herself, Cindy Meyers and Josh Appignanesi.
Deadline reports that shooting on the new film will behind in Italy later this month.
The news comes shortly after it was revealed Jessica Parker has also been cast in 'Wild Oats', another comedy film.
The actress - who is best known for playing the role of Carrie Bradshaw on HBO series 'Sex and the City' - will appear alongside Shirley Maclaine and Alan Arkin in the movie, reports Variety.com.
The script centres on a widowed character who is given a life insurance cheque worth $5 million instead of the expected $50,000 accidentally.
Andy Tennant from 'Hitch' will direct the project based on the script penned by Claudia Myers and Gary Kanew.
'Wild Oats' is scheduled for release in 2015.
