Bryan Cranston has entered into talks to appear in 'The Great Wall'.

The 'Breaking Bad' star could appear in the eagerly-awaited film alongside fellow Hollywood heavyweight Matt Damon, who was linked to a part in the film earlier this week.

Deadline reports that the precise nature of Cranston's proposed role remains a secret, but insist he's locked in talks with Legendary Pictures over a part in the flick, which is being directed by Zhang Yimou, who made his directorial debut in 1987 with 'Red Sorghum'.

Casting is still to be officially confirmed, but it appears serious strides are being made to get the film into production, something Legendary's Thomas Tull - who is producing the movie - has been striving for over the last few years.

Earlier this week, Deadline claimed Matt Damon is keen to secure the lead role in 'The Great Wall', despite having a packed working schedule.

Damon, 43, is being lined up to play the central character in the film, even though he's also been linked with a return to the role of action hero Jason Bourne.

It's been speculated Damon's comeback as the character will hit cinema screens on July 15, 2016.
