Jessica Chastain would love to play a superhero in a new film.
The stunning Oscar nominated actress has admitted that she would be happy to play the lead in an action-packed superhero movie, but was firm that she would not settle for the supportive girlfriend or daughter role if she was offered one.
In an interview with the Guardian, she explained: "I would love to do a superhero movie! I would have loved to have played Black Widow."
"A couple of times I've gotten really close. The problem is, if I do a superhero movie, I don't want to be the girlfriend. I don't want to be the daughter.
"I want to wear a f***ing cool costume with a scar on my face, with fight scenes. That's what I'd love."
Jessica was briefly attached to play Maya Hansen in 2013 superhero flick, 'Iron Man 3'. However, the role eventually went to 'The Prestige' actress, Rebecca Hall.
In the past the flame haired beauty has praised Scarlett Johansson's portrayal of Black Widow and even criticized the studio executives for not making a 'Black Widow' spin-off.
Last month, Jessica told The Wrap: "Where is the Scarlett Johansson superhero movie? I don't understand it, why is it taking so long for this?
"This woman clearly shows that people want to go see her in the movies."
