Margot Robbie is in talks to star in 'Ghost In The Shell'.
The 'Wolf of Wall Street' actress is in negotiations to take on a starring role in the upcoming film adaptation of the Japanese comic book of the same name, Deadline reports.
The movie - which will be directed by 'Snow White and the Huntsman' filmmaker Rupert Sanders for DreamWorks - will follow a script written by Bill Wheeler.
The story is set in a future in which cybernetic and technological advances have led to humans undergoing implants and robots being upgraded with human tissue.
'Ghost In The Shell' follows Cyborg agent, Major Motoko Kusanagi, who is charged with tracking down a fiendish hacker known as The Puppet Master, a figure capable of exploiting the human/robot interface and reprogramming his puppets to carry out his orders.
It's so far unknown what part Robbie has been enlisted to play but it's been suggested that as she is the first big name to be linked to the film, DreamWorks may have her in mind for the leading role.
The 24-year-old star is currently filming 'Tarzan' alongside Alexander Skarsgard, Samuel L. Jackson and Christoph Waltz and will next be seen in crime-comedy 'Focus' with Will Smith.
