Calvin Harris has hit out at music reviewers who "don't get" his music and feels they are just disgruntled "failed musicians"
Calvin Harris has blasted music reviewers who criticise him and claims they're "failed musicians".
The 'Summer' hitmaker - who was recently named the world's highest-earning DJ - doesn't think music critics "understand" his dance tracks and often dismiss him because they haven't been successful in the business themselves.
Calvin bluntly told the Daily Star newspaper: "We all know that reviewers are all failed musicians and have huge chips on their shoulders about various things. It's mostly dance music because they see dance music as a bunch of people who got lucky, whereas they grafted in a terrible band for 15 years and didn't get signed because they were awful.
"Reviewers don't like me because they don't really get it and don't understand what I do."
The 30-year-old star also hit back at people who assume he doesn't produce his own music, insisting he slaves away in the studio to create his hit songs.
He explained: "A lot of people presume that I have a team that make the music and mix it and play the instruments, and that I'm just the face of it.
"I'm sure if people watched me in the studio they would be very impressed."
The hard-working star recently broke Michael Jackson's record for most top 10 singles from one album in the UK, notching up eight hits from his previous record '18 Months'.
And just this week Forbes magazine listed him as the top earning DJ in music ahead of David Guetta and Avicii.
