Steve Carell is to produce and appear in new Disney film 'Brooklyn Family Robinson'.
The comedian, who is best known for his starring roles in 'Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy' and comedy series 'The Office', is to produce the project with Charlie Hartsock and Vance DeGeneres, his partners at Carousel Productions.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the trio are to work in partnership with Disney's David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman of Mandeville Films.
Hoberman and Lieberman were responsible for producing 'Muppets Most Wanted', which starred British comedian Ricky Gervais and hit cinema screens earlier this year.
Meanwhile, the script is being penned by David Reynolds, who was nominated for an Oscar for co-writing the 2003 classic 'Finding Nemo'.
The eagerly-awaited film is to be based around an original idea by Reynolds, Hartsock and Degeneres.
And while specific details of the project are few and far between, it is known that the film will centre on Carell's character - the patriarch of the family - and his move from life in the city to an island.
'Brooklyn Family Robinson' will see Carell return to Disney following his role in 'Alexander and Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Day', which is to be released in October.
