Legendary Scottish comedian Billy Connolly has announced he's returning to his homeland as part of his High Horse world tour in autumn 2014. The tour will call at Aberdeen, Dundee, Perth, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Interestingly, the Big Yin's appearance will come in the immediate wake of the Independence Referendum – on which he's made clear he supports staying within the UK. Connolly continues to tour after being diagnosed with Parkinson's last year, and admitting he's started forgetting lines on-stage. He's also continued careers as a successful visual artist – exhibiting throughout the UK since 2012 – and as an actor, with a role in the upcoming conclusion to The Hobbit trilogy.

Aberdeen Music Hall, Mon 29 & Tue 30 Sep
Perth Concert Hall, Wed 1 Oct.
Usher Hall, Edinburgh, Sat 4–Tue 7 Oct.
Caird Hall, Dundee, Sat 11 Oct
Clyde Auditorium, Glasgow, Sun 19–Mon 27 Oct (not 21, 25).
