Will Smith is in talks to star in a NFL concussions drama.
The 45-year-old actor is in negotiations for the currently untitled drama which is based on the GQ article 'Game Brain', according to Variety.com.
Peter Landesman - who helmed John F. Kennedy picture 'Parkland' - will pen the script and direct.
Giannina Facio, Ridley Scott and Michael Schaefer will produce for Scott Free while David Wolthoff and Larry Shuman will produce for the Shuman Company.
The article, 'Game Brain', was written by Jeanne Marie Laskas and follows forensic neuropathologist Dr. Bennet Omalu who discovered a CTE (Chronic traumatic encephalopathy) in a professional football player and brought awareness to the public about the dangers of concussions and other forms of head injuries.
Other movies are tackling the same issues including an adaptation of 'League of Denial: The NFL, Concussions', the 'Battle for Truth' is in the works, as well as 'Game Time Decision', starring Isiah Washington.
Meanwhile, Smith recently dropped out of Legendary's 'Brilliance' and sources allege this may have had to do with scheduling concerns with this film.
The Hollywood hunk will next hit the big screen in Warner Bros. 'Focus'.
