Emily Blunt did the plank in the middle of a sushi restaurant while exploring her opening sequence for the 'Edge of Tomorrow'.

The 31-year-old actress, who stars as Rita Vratask in the sci-fi film, revealed the cast and crew were out at lunch working out how to introduce characters when her co-star Christopher 'Kick' Gurry insisted she show director Doug Liman one of her impressive yoga poses which was later incorporated into the film.

Talking to the BBC, she explained: "We were trying to figure out the best way to introduce the character, so we were all out having sushi, and one of the other characters, one of the members of J-Squad, Kick, just said, 'Em, show Doug [director] that toga move you can do'. I just did in the middle of a sushi restaurant and I remember Doug looking at me like that and going, 'That's it'."

Blunt and her co-star Tom Cruise have a busy day with three premieres for the film in London, Paris and New York today (28.05.14).

With Earth under attack from aliens, cowardly soldier Cage (Cruise) is killed, only to wake up the day before, stuck in a time loop. Groundhog Day crossed with Starship Troopers ? Yep, and despite a nonsensical coda it's enormous fun, with a witty script, superb work from Cruise and Blunt, and thrilling action sequences.
