Take in bars, live music, comedy, theatre and street food while hanging with the animals
It is perhaps the last place you’d imagine going for a drink and some evening entertainment, but Edinburgh Zoo is reviving its special Zoo Nights events for summer 2014. Bars, live music, comedy, theatre and street food will be in place across the zoo grounds, making for an altogether more grown-up visit for big kids aged 18 or above.
Entertainment will vary across each of the four dates. Musical highlights include harpist Esther Smith, cellist Atzi, acoustic acts Small Feet Little Toes and William Douglas and jazz trio Sink.
Other entertainment spread around the zoo includes physical theatre with Calum Macaskill, talks, facepainting and a clown, to thespian troupe Voice Box Theatre, plus many more. The famous silent disco also makes a triumphant return for 2014.
The event is as unique as nights out in the capital are ever likely to come; live entertainment, food and drink, plus a world-class collection of exotic animals. Alcohol and wild animals do not usually mix well – at Edinburgh Zoo Nights, they make for a perfect cocktail!
Edinburgh Zoo Nights will take place on Fri 23 May, Fri 6 Jun, Fri 20 Jun and Fri 27 Jun. You can buy tickets from the Edinburgh Zoo website.
