Michelle Keegan's Tina death surprise
Michelle Keegan has revealed she was initially surprised by producers' decision to kill off her popular 'Coronation Street' character Tina McIntyre
Coronation Street's Michelle Keegan was initially surprised when producers decided to kill off Tina McIntyre.
The actress is bowing out of the ITV soap - in which she plays stunning barmaid Tina McIntyre - in May and although she chose to leave the soap, she was shocked to learn that show bosses weren't going to leave the door open for her return.
She explained: "I was a bit [surprised] at first. They told me they would leave the door open initially and a few months down the line, the producers said they'd done a storyline conference and the writers had pitched a really good leaving storyline for me.
"I was shocked initially because leaving a soap and having a door open can be a safety net, but then I was told how it was going to affect the street's characters for the rest of the year and I was hooked!"
The brunette beauty wrapped up her final scenes recently and was left emotional because she's grown up on the soap's set.
She told Britain's OK! magazine: "Its been really emotional. I cried on my last day and I cried at my party and so did the make-up girls. I think it's because I started at a young age and grew up there. It's like finishing high school but no one's coming with me!"
