'They're a musical smörgåsbord – all edgy blues licks, perfectly formed indie and smoky basement soul and funk'
A fantastic lineup for an equally fantastic cause. This is a cross-genre showcase of some of Edinburgh's finest musical talents, with singer/songwriter duo the Keystone Project fusing Nick Drake-esque melodies with heartfelt blues; Battle of the Zoo covering leftfield electronica and well-crafted house with decidedly Scottish overtones; and, topping the night off, excellent new band the Henchman School of Shooting, which sees four of the city’s most accomplished musicians coming together in what could well be your favourite new band. Henchman are a musical smörgåsbord – all edgy blues licks, perfectly formed indie and smoky basement soul and funk. Their debut EP, which features the brilliant 'Play' and classy 'Deliver It', is an absolute delight. Making up the bill is one of Scotland's most in-demand DJs, Todd (XY), whilst a huge list of local businesses have come together to provide prizes for the mother of all raffles. A truly feelgood night out!
Henchman School of Shooting play Edinburgh Live Presents, Voodoo Rooms, Edinburgh, Thu 24 Apr.
