Channel 5's 'Suspects' will return for a second series and will follow three detectives who are on a mission to solve crime in London.

'Suspects' will return for a second series.

The unscripted crime drama starring Fay Ripley (Detective Inspector Martha Bellamy), Damien Molony (Detective Sergeant Jack Weston) and Clare-Hope Ashitey (Detective Constable Charlotte 'Charlie' Steele) is set in London and follows three detectives as they investigate the circumstances surrounding a particular crime.

The series - which sees the actors improvise all of their dialogue rather than rely on a script - has proven hugely popular with viewers and consequently Channel 5 bosses have agreed to have the show back in the autumn with new episodes for a second series, and it has also been re-commissioned for 2015.

Ben Frow, Channel 5's director of programmes, said: "'Suspects' has been an incredible critical success for Channel 5, and praised for its innovative and game-changing approach to procedural drama. We're thrilled by the reaction and are excited about commissioning a further series for later in the year."

Paul Marquess, managing director of production company Newman Street, added: "'Suspects' is the most exciting show I've ever made, so we can't wait to get back into production and we're delighted to be working with Ben and Greg Barnett again."

This show is very similar to Hanrahan Investigates which Channel 5 aired a few years ago....did anyone see it? I think H.I. was scripted but had same camera techniques, voice over and reality feel. An interesting concept that C5 have been dabbling with for a while.
