Interview: Comedian Chris Ramsey - First and Last

The popular South Shields comic on Gladiators, Game of Thrones and his girlfriend

First record you ever bought
PJ and Duncan’s Psyche. A cliché I know, but they had a very big impact on the Newcastle hip hop scene.

Last extravagant purchase you made
A pool table for my house. My girlfriend is furious.

First film you saw that really moved you
Dumb and Dumber. When they sell a parakeet to a blind kid. I was gutted for him.

Last lie you told
I never tell lies (this one).

First movie you ever went on a date to
I don’t go on dates to the cinema. You can’t talk. What's the point in sitting in the dark with a stranger? It’s creepy.

Last time you cried
The other day watching 12 Years a Slave.

First thing you do when you’ve got time off work

Last great meal you cooked
Garlic and chilli prawns and courgette pasta.

First crush
Jet from Gladiators.

Last book you read
One of the Jack Reacher ones, but I listen to them on audiobook.

First great piece of advice you were given
Don’t wipe your arse with sandpaper (from my dad when I was about six).

Last time you were star-struck
I was in a hotel swimming pool and the girl who plays Margaery Tyrell from Game of Thrones was there. Me and my girlfriend were like excited little kids.

First thing you’d do if you ran the country

Last meal on earth

First song you’ll sing at karaoke
You’ll not catch me at karaoke.

Last time you exploited your position to get something
I’m quite good at getting late check-outs at hotels.

First time you realised you were famous
Hasn’t happened yet!

Last time someone criticised your work
Probably some prick on Twitter.

First three words your friends would use to describe you
Thinks he’s funny (my friends are dicks).

Last time you made an impulse buy and regretted it
I bought a four-finger KitKat yesterday and just couldn’t finish it.

First concert you ever attended
Lee Evans, Newcastle City Hall. I was about 14. He was amazing.

Last time you bought someone flowers
I try and get my girlfriend some now and then as I’m away a lot.

First object you’d save from your burning home
My hard drive. In fact, no. Let it burn!

Last funny thing you saw online
A complaint letter to an airline that Rich Wisken wrote. It’s amazing.

First job
Paper round.

Last person you fantasized about

First word you spoke
I’d have to ring my mam and ask her.

Last crime you committed
Farting in public? That’s illegal now, yeah?

First song at your (potential) wedding
Already picked it, keeping it a secret.

Last song at your funeral
Countdown theme tune as my coffin disappears.

First person you’d thank in an award acceptance speech
Whoever just handed me the award.

Last thing you recommended to someone
A pizza place in Newcastle called The Herb Garden.

First thing you think of when you wake up in the morning
Where am I?!

Last thing you think of before you go to sleep
Did I finish that Q&A for The List?
