Jamie Bell is in talks to star in a reboot of 'Fantastic Four'.

The 27-year-old actor - who currently appears in Lars von Trier's 'Nymphomaniac' alongside Shia LaBeouf and Uma Thurman - is said to be in negotiations to take on the role of Ben Grimm, aka 'The Thing' in the forthcoming film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The 'Billy Elliot' star will be joined by 'Footloose' actor Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic, 'House of Cards' actress Kate Mara as the Invisible Girl and Michael B. Jordan - who played Vince Howard in 'Friday Night Lights' - as the Human Torch, in the movie which will see the four characters during their younger years.

Josh Trank will direct the superhero flick - which will serve as a prequel to 2005 and 2007 films 'Fantastic Four' and 'Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer' - which starred Ioan Gruffudd as Mr. Fantastic, Jessica Alba as Invisible Girl, Chris Evans as the Human Torch and Michael Chiklis as The Thing.

The stars are yet to confirm the casting and Teller could be forced to drop out if scheduling issues are not resolved as he has only recently wrapped production on the John Belushi biopic 'Whiplash'.

This adaptation of the classic comic book delivers yet another story about how a team of superheroes develop their freakish abilities, but it's humourless, drab and filled with self-important speeches about saving the world. Tim Story's 2005 and 2007 Fantastic Four films may have set the bar low, but Trank barely clears it.
