- 14 February 2014
The jukebox musical features the hit songs ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’, ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off You’ and ‘Bye Bye Baby’
The award winning musical Jersey Boys will embark on its first ever UK tour this September, travelling to Sunderland, Manchester, Birmingham, Stoke and Edinburgh.
Backed by the original Broadway production creative team, Jersey Boys (written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice with music and lyrics from Bob Gaudio and Bob Crewe respectively) documents the career of the Frankie Valli-fronted classic 1960s rock and roll outfit The Four Seasons from their inception, through their heady success to their eventual breakup. For those of you unfamiliar with the 2005 stage smash, that story is told in the form of the four annual seasons, each one from the perspective of a different member of the band. Showcasing popular songs such as ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’, ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off You’ and ‘Bye Bye Baby’, the show has won a total of four Tony awards and the 2009 Olivier Award for Best Musical and has been staged in a diverse variety of countries throughout the world, from Canada to Singapore to South Africa.
One production will continue its run in London’s West End while another simultaneously makes its way up and down the British Isles, giving many audiences their first chance to see this slice of feelgood fun.
Tickets for Jersey Boys at the Edinburgh Playhouse go on sale from 10am on Fri 14 Feb – for date and time info, plus ticketing links, see the listings information below.
