Joey Essex upsets I'm a Celebrity co-stars
Joey Essex has angered his former 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' co-stars after he took home their Best Entertainment Programme prize from the National Television Awards.
Joey Essex has upset his former 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' co-stars by taking their National Television Award prize.
The reality TV show was honoured as Best Entertainment Programme at last month's ceremony, but he took home the gong leaving the other contestants with the option of paying £1,300 for their own copy.
A source told the Sunday People newspaper: "He took the award home and has it in his house and nobody else even got a look in.
"It's obviously left them all pretty upset - he didn't even with the competition. And then to be told it will cost them over a grand for their own award is a real slap in the face.
"Joey's naturally really smug about it and [winner Kian Egan] especially has been very vocal about the fact the award should be shared between them all."
The star - who previously appeared on 'The Only Way Is Essex' - has angered his co-stars because of his ego while the rest of them are "sticking together".
The insider said: "He seems to think he's in a league of his own when it comes to his fame and how successful he's been.
"The others are all down to earth and stick together but Joey's acting the big 'I am' and it's set the cat among the pigeons."
