17 January 2014
Tickets for the run in autumn 2014 will go on sale from Tue 21 Jan
Julie Taymor's blockbuster stage adaptation of The Lion King is set to continue its tour around the UK with a run at Sunderland's Empire Theatre in autumn 2014. The musical version of Disney's epic 'Hamlet with lions' animation will visit the theatre from Thu 18 Sep–Sat 1 Nov 2014. The show – which we awarded four stars when it visited the Edinburgh Playhouse last year – is 'a triumph of theatrical ingenuity' that's suitable for everybody: 'lovers of big budget family entertainment, theatre connoisseurs and everyone in-between.'
Tickets for The Lion King at the Sunderland Empire go on sale from 10am on Tue 21 Jan – for date and time info plus ticketing links, see the listings information below.
