Kiefer Sutherland says '24' movie is an "ongoing situation" and doesn't rule out the possibility of a feature film
Kiefer Sutherland says the '24' movie is an "ongoing situation".
The 47-year-old actor who stars as male lead Jack Bauer in the hit TV series still insists on the possibility of producing a film based on the action drama since it has a different plot to the series' 12 episode comeback - which will be shot later this year in London.
Talking at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, Sutherland said: "The script for the film is very different. It's an ongoing situation, and there's always an opportunity to do it.
"If this ends up rebooting the show or causing a film to be made, so be it, but we're very happy about these 12 episodes right now."
In 2012 it was announced filming a big-screen adaptation of '24' had been pushed back to 2013, but director Antoine Fuqua - who was due to helm the motion picture - later revealed the movie will not be happening.
The picture was set to be part of a trilogy but there were reports of disagreements with filmmakers over the budget.
It was said that the studio Fox had planned a budget of $30 million, while the filmmakers wanted $45 million to $60 million to create the movie they envisaged.
