Felicity Jones has hinted she will play the Black Cat in 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2'.

The British actress sparked rumours she is due to star as jewel thief the Black Cat in Marc Webb's superhero sequel alongside Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone after letting slip she would be wearing a costume on-screen.

Asked if she had any say in her costume, she told Collider.com: "Oh, yeah, totally! Absolutely! It's a medium that's very collaborative. Actors and directors work on things together. That's how I like to work, anyway. I don't want to be told what to do.

"I want to share it with someone and work it out together. You know that person better than anyone. That's my job."

The 'Like Crazy' star is also speculated to be playing the villainous Menace - another character who fights in costume.

The 30-year-old brunette found working on the all-star big budget adventure an exciting change after making so many independent flicks.

Felicity explained: "It's a completely different experience. That's why I wanted to do something like that. I've done a lot of very low-budget indie films, so it was just really exciting and fun to be doing a film where there's a lot more time and these huge, vast sets.

"I was like a kid in a playground. It was amazing!"

Peter Parker (Garfield) goes up against new supervillains Electro (Foxx) and Harry Osborn (DeHaan). Garfield and Stone have enormous chemistry, Foxx and DeHaan bring complexity and pathos, and the rebooted franchise continues to capture the original character's wise-cracking energy in a way that the Raimi trilogy didn't.
