Britney Spears stunned an unsuspecting fan on 'Surprise Surprise'.

The 32-year-old star dressed up as a waitress in London's Savoy Hotel where she presented a tray of cakes to James Colbourn who had been nominated by his sister, 23-year-old Sadie, to receive the treat.

James couldn't believe his luck with he met blonde beauty and "nearly fainted" while he enjoyed afternoon tea in the country's capital.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "James is a massive Britney fan. He nearly faints when he spots Britney because he thinks the surprise is having afternoon tea at The Savoy and then Britney walks in with a tray of scones and he can't believe it.

"It was a lovely surprise, even if it was a little overwhelming for James."

Britney was delighted at the prospect of returning to the UK and is a massive fan of the show's original host, 70-year-old Cilla Black.

The source added: "Britney has been coming to the UK for years and loves all things British. Production staff were stunned when she admitted she actually used to watch the show - and loved Cilla."

James' sister Sadie had nominated him for the treat since he'd been a great source of support to her after she gave birth to twins George and Riley, who have been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, at just 26 weeks.

Speaking on the show, she said: "[He supported me] every step of the way.

"He gave up his spare time and cared for the boys as if they were his own - I could not have done it without him."

The Christmas special airs on ITV at 8pm tonight (18.12.13) and includes appearances from music legend Cher and 'Dear Darlin' hitmaker Olly Murs.
