Spencer Matthews is "bored" of 'Made in Chelsea'.

The hunky lothario admits he's ready to quit the reality show after receiving death threats from viewers who take the programme "too seriously".

Speaking to Heat magazine, he said: "Some people take the show too seriously. It's nice that they do take it seriously, but sometimes it gets a bit much. I'm pretty bored of the whole thing.

"I love it and I am happy for it but I want to kind of use it as a stepping stone now, and that's always been the deal. I've always said that it's a temporary thing.

"I'm delighted that it's doing so well but I don't quite have the enthusiasm for it that I used to, which is why perhaps my character looks arrogant or a bit dark. It's probably because I don't really care."

The 25-year-old star has been featured in the E4 series since the first show, but believes he's getting too old for the programme now.

He explained: "Hopefully we won't be sitting in those wine bars when we're 35. We'll see, though. The show's got some life left in it but the core cast are all getting quite old. We're all mid-to-late-20s and we all started when we were in our early 20s.

"They can keep bringing in new people but the longer the show goes on the harder it is for people to join."
