Marcia Gay Harden has joined 'Fifty Shades of Grey'.

The Oscar-winner - who won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2000 movie 'Pollock' - has signed up to play Dr. Grace Trevelyan Grey, the adoptive mother of bondage-loving billionaire Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) in the upcoming film, which is based on E.L. James' erotic novel, Deadline reports.

The 54-year-old actress, who recently wrapped on Woody Allen's comedy movie 'Magic in the Moonlight', will star alongside the likes of Dornan and Dakota Johnson - who is to play Christian's lover Anastasia Steele - in the Sam Taylor-Johnson-directed motion picture.

The news comes just days after it was revealed singer Rita Ora - who starred in 'Fast and the Furious 6' - has joined the film's cast as Christian's adopted sister.

Other stars who have so far signed up for the film include Eloise Mumford, who will play Kate, Anastasia's best friend, while Luke Grimes will portray Christian's brother Elliot.

Victor Rasuk is set to star as Anastasia's friend José, Jennifer Ehle as Anastasia's mother Carla and Max Martini as Christian Grey's bodyguard Jason Taylor.

The movie is expected to be released in February 2015.

Despite its troubling gender politics and distinct lack of plot, the likeable Johnson brings nuance and charm to a paper-thin character; Dornan manages to offer a hint of humanity; and given the many constraints, this sleek, fairly trim and occasionally sensual adaptation is the best imaginable outcome.
