Simon Pegg confirms Mission: Impossible 5 return
Simon Pegg has started eating "one carrot a day" to reprise his role in 'Mission: Impossible 5'
Simon Pegg has confirmed he will be returning for 'Mission: Impossible 5'.
The British actor joked he has already started his diet of "one carrot a day" to reprise his role as tech expert Benji Dunn in the fast-paced action franchise alongside Tom Cruise.
Quizzed about his return, Pegg told MTV US: "Yes, absolutely. I'm looking forward to doing that. I've already started eating one carrot a day in order to be in shape. Actually that's not good for you, don't do that!"
The future blockbuster, set to hit screens on December 25, 2015, will be directed by Christopher McQuarrie from a screenplay by Drew Pearce.
'The World's End' funnyman also revealed he hopes his friend Joe Cornish is chosen to direct the third instalment of 'Star Trek' after J.J. Abrams was forced to pull out due to his 'Star Wars' commitments.
'The Adventures of Tintin' and 'Ant-Man' screenwriter Cornish, who made his directorial debut with 2011's 'Attack The Block', was first tipped for the role earlier this month by Deadline and Pegg thinks he would be "amazing".
He enthused: "I had a long conversation with Joe about this the other week, id love it if he did it. there's obviously a lot of factors, he has things of his own going on.
"It would be enormous fun, he's such a smart guy and a clever film director. He would be an interesting addition to the team."
